Go On Girl! Wins Literary Legend Award

Largo, Maryland - January 13, 2009 - Go On Girl! Book Club will receive the Literary Legends award at the first annual Black Book Clubs Rock event on Saturday, June 20th at the Radisson Hotel in Largo, Maryland. The event honors book clubs and literary supporters that have made a positive impact on the African-American community through their service. Honorees exemplify community spirit, leadership, volunteerism and making a difference in the lives of authors and readers. Go On Girl! Book Club Co-Founders Lynda Johnson and Tracy Mitchell-Brown will accept the award in person.

Tifany Jones, founder of the Sistah Confessions Book Club and event organizer stated, "As a book club founder I personally know the hard work and dedication that is required to make a club successful. Many of us strive for the longevity and sisterhood clearly demonstrated by Go On Girl! Book Club."

Go On Girl! Book Club was founded in 1991 in New York City by Monique Greenwood, Lynda Johnson and Tracy Mitchell-Brown.
